Something fishy about this whole thread. Being a strict constructionist, I believe in the separation of perch and skate.

Why does everything get blamed on DNA?

Old New Yorker cartoon: Two lab scientists, white coats and all, are standing in front of a table with a micrscope and test tubes and lab retorts. First scientist to his colleague: "Eureka! I've discovered the gene which makes us think that everything we do is due to our genes."

It simpler to blame something, anything, else rather than be responsible for our own destiny. Hence, the phrase "It must have been God's Will."

This Will fellow is blamed for a lot of things: weather, the death of children, the winning of the lottery, the non-winning of the lottery and the election of pathetically incompetent officials come to mind.

The election of pathetically incompetent officials is the will of the pathetically incompetent voters
