...this makes no sense, I tells ya!
I couldn't care less = I care so little that it would be impossible to care any less.
Yeah yeah! So why does "I could care less" mean the exactly same thing to heaps of perfectly sane people?
"I could care less" is one of my pet peeves.
Craven<
It's one of my pet peeves, too, but I couldn't care less. Irregardless of correct wording, some people still prefer the errant "could care less."
I thionk "I could care less" is an Americanism - I never heard it as a weelowan - and it makes me want to bite someone - it is as bad as "foul" swoop.
..though why the apathetic should actually go so far as to express themselves is beyond me - as far as I am concerned they can go join the meek....
i use neither, i usually say:
does it look like i give a sh$#!
I DO hope Craven feeds his pet peeves better than he fed his hampsters!
What, pray tell, is a sh$#! ?
I normally say something that can't be posted here
Saying it carefully.
I could care less ... if I cared at all.
But I'd rather be care free and live vie care eosly.
To wit:
"My care is like my shadow in the sun - Follows me flying - flies when I pursue it." - Queen Elizabeth I
"He who cares least - controls." - Proverb
"If I wanted an easy care garden, I would have planted weeds." - Proverb
"Care to our coffin adds a nail, no doubt, And every grin so merry draws one out." - John Wolcot
"A man can't be too careful in the choice of his enemies." - Oscar Wilde
"You got to be careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." - Yogi Berra
Well said, and welcome, CodeBorg!
Yes, dlowan. All's well that ends well!
I couldn't be bothered to type this so I deleted it
Couldn't be bothered to delete it either
Couldn't you care just a little less, hiama?

Care Level: ORANGE.
In danger of beginning to care, someday.
(So no, I still won't do what you want).
