It was another day at the beach with the dogs for me - they both recognize the McD's we hit on the way there - treats for them, a jumbo tea and free newspaper for me, a breakfast to share - and are standing in the back seat with their paws on the hatch lid when we turn onto the street where we park.

Cleo's making more progress with her socialization - which makes each trip a little more relaxing for me.

Just got off the phone from a great phone call with our Miss Aa. She sends her regards to the WildClickers. It'll be a while before we see her here in person again, but we're all thinking of each other.

Some of her neighbours are pitching in to walk her new little adopted dog, Shandy. It's great to know that Aa's in such a nice community.

Stradee, Aa mentioned you last night. Sorta marvelling that there are 3 of you A2K'rs in the same general part of California.

Late clicks - but clicked...

Three Wildclickers in the same area of CA where the 1849 gold strike was - what a coincidence.

The Gold Rush expended 125 Million ounces of gold - worth $50 Billion by

Ok, what brand of beer do you have?? grin

I panned for gold in Alaska - also made a small "riffle" box which I used to find my nugget at the site where Felix Pedro found the gold that started the Alaskan gold rush. There is a nice rock monument there now - or was back in 1970. It's way out in the middle of nowhere. Gold panning is HARD work - so a really good beer is necessary.

sumac,
This is the nugget I found at the Felix Pedro site. It's about actual size.

There were probably larger ones - but I was only looking for a souvenir and this one appeared first.

Here's a link to a Felix Pedro site.

Sue and Danon,

These California Gold Nuggets were discovered at Whiskey Flats
on the West Branch of the Feather River near Paradise, California.

Fantastic gold nugget specimens with a high natural purity
from the Mother Lode area of Northern California

'Morning all. Settling in on the bench. How's Aa doing, ebeth? All that pretty gold and how nutty people have usually gotten over it.
