Is this further destruction of the American family or a push by the gay agenda to rewrite known science? We all know that children are only born of a man and a woman, not 2 men and not 2 women. It takes one of each and it seems as if gay activists are trying to change that fact. It started with marriage and is now moving into other areas of life. If something isn't done now it will only get worse. It will get to the point where calling my wife my wife will be a criminal offence and land my in jail. I will be forced to call her my partner as to not offend the homosexuals.
A birth certificate is one of our primary forms of ID, and Mitt wants use to "cross out the words 'Mother' or 'Father'"...... that's professional.

Every child is indeed born of one man and one woman, but not all parents are a set of one man and one woman. What has this got to do with rewriting science? Oh, come on now, you will always be able to call your wife what ever the hell you want to call her.

It's not him that I have the issue with, it is the gay groups who want to change the cirtificate to say Parent A and Parent B. They are the ones wanting to make the change not the gov.

If they want it, they can have it.
What's the problem Baldimo?

They don't want the crossing out; they want a full change to the certificate. This is what I'm against. Leave the document the way that it is with no changes. If they want to be on the certificate then go with the cross out.

Why do you have an issue with changing the gift certificate to parent A and parent B?

Two women or two men can't give BIRTH to a child. That is the sole domain of a single man and a single woman. It takes two too tango.

I've got an idea.
Why doesn't Massachusetts have two different kinds of birth certificates?
One kind can have "Mother" and "Father".
The other can have "Parent A" and "Parent B".
I'll bet at least some heterosexual couples go for the Parent A and Parent B form.

I get it.
A "Birth Certificate" attributes "biological ownership" to the child in question. I was adopted and my parents aren't on my birth certificate, nor are they listed as "parent A and Parent B".
Shockingly, I'm kinda with Baldimo on this one.

So do away with Mother, Father, Parent, etc. Just use the words "Gamete A" and "Gamete B."

I suspect that as reproductive technology progresses there will be far more options that need to be covered.
If someone were to clone me, would they have to list my parents on the birth certificate?
Mother: Test-tube
Father: Knife

This is the type of stuff that is against nature. We have been getting along just fine for the last hundreds of thousands of years without such types of technology. To have them now is against nature!

Things have to be natural for you?
Fine.
Throw away your computer, get out your papyrus.
We'll wait for your letter.

After all is said and done, what is a clone except your twin sibling?
Of course, before twins were born at the same time. Now you can have a twin born when you are an adult.
Must be cool-seeing your twin grow up from the adult perspective.

Maybe not the gay activists, but Japanese scientists did. It seems it takes just 2 women in order to get babies.

When it comes to birth yes I prefer natural. Using technology, as a means of communication is far different then using cows uterus's(sp) as a temporary stopping ground for babies or test tubes. You know we are heading to hell in a hand basket when men can have children.

Ok, biological ownership is the issue?
If adopted people, like candidone, don't have their bio parents on a birth certificate why does anyone else need their biological parents on a birth certificate? Isn't the certificate mostly there to record a birth?
Certainly having the parents listed on the certificate is a good way to keep records straight and to assign responsibility for the well-being of minors. But, we want those people who are accepting responsibility to be held responsible, not those who have given up a child for adoption.
