Interesting poll

Quote:
The poll found a majority of respondents on 16 of the 20 questions took an anti-abortion position, including:

- Parental notification laws that were recently upheld by the Supreme
Court (55% support for girls 18 yrs. & younger; 69% for girls 16 yrs.
old & younger; only 36% and 23% disagree respectively)

- Abortion ends a human life (59% agree; 29% disagree)

- The prohibition of federal funds for abortions abroad (69% agree with
the prohibition; 21% disagree)

- Abortion because of the sex of the fetus (86% agree should be illegal;
10% disagree should be illegal)

- Requiring insurance plans to cover abortions where the life of the
mother is not endangered (56% disagree with such a requirement; 12%
agree)

- When life begins (50% believe it begins at conception; 19% believe life
begins at birth)

- A new federal partial-birth abortion bill (50% want to see another
bill; 39% don't want to see another bill)

- Requiring counseling about a mother's options before undergoing an
abortion (55% agree with such a counseling requirement; 37% disagree)

- A 24-hour waiting period (56% agree with waiting period; 37% disagree)

- Federal & state financing of abortions for poor women (51% disagree
with financing; 37% disagree)

- Laws that charge a person who kills a pregnant woman with two murders
(64% agree with such laws; 23% disagree)

Also interesting that it is featured in a European news source, but I haven't seen it in any of the American MSM sources. I'm sure this is information that the pro-abortion rights group would prefer the rank and file not see.

Mob rule, trumped-up rationalizations and ignorance are the best way to protect woman's rights, just ask the blacks!

Speaking of ignorance, I didn't see you answer regarding a medical practitioner's ethical duty to fully disclose information before a procedure and a woman's right to be provided with that info.

Here let me post it again

Quote:
Doctors have an ethical duty to provide complete medical information to patients before a procedure.

In the case of an abortion, that information regarding the status of the unborn should include heartbeat, brainwave activity and a sonogram.

But abortionists prey upon the woman's fear and ignorance.

Planned Parenthood does not want to provide medical information, they want the woman or the young girl scared and in the dark so that they can continue to generate a profit. Abortion is a profit center and they don't want to lose it.

There is not a single reason why abortionists should not have to provide this information to the woman.

Do you agree that the practitioner has a duty to disclose this information and that the woman has a right to know about it?

How absurd, it's completely impossible to "provide complete medical information".

Why?

Explain what a so-called "abortionist" is. Then prove these so-called "abortionists" "prey upon the woman's fear and ignorance"
real life wrote:

Prove it.

Prove why they should have to provide this so-called "information".

The practitioner has a reasonable obligation to ensure the patient is reasonably well informed as to the procedure itself. The practitioner has no obligation to preach religious dogma to the patient.

WTF is an 'abortionist'?
Is that supposed to be some secret society of mad scientists plotting to abort as many pregancies as possible?

Chumly, if you will go back through this entire thread, you will find sufficient links and verifiable references to 'prove' all of Real Life's claims. If you are interested in information rather than just stating in various ways that it isn't true if you don't believe it, you will do that. Asking that all that be posted again because you don't want to take the time to do your homework is really not necessary. Real Life has done her homework. Smile

real life,
If 'abortionists' are simply 'anyone that performs an abortion' and not some 'evil' organization bent on an agenda, most of what you write about them is truly inflammatory.
The definition you offer does not fit the way you have been using the term. Your 'abortionist' is not simply a doctor that has cancelled a pregnancy...nono..
Your 'abortionist' is something far more sinister..and I daresay probably (much like your jesus) imaginary.

Through your myopic, rhetoric laden, Judeo-Christian superstitious eye, but not in the real world of science and logic. Real Life has been unable sustain any arguments when even a modicum of intelligence and thoughtfulness is applied.

There has been no consequential mertible challenge at all from Real Life. Too bad really, it might be cool if there was.

So you don't have a clue as to what she has posted. Or me either apparently. She has actually laid out a quite excellent argument for most facets of the prolife position. You have only presented your opinions which are obviously uncomplimentary toward the prolife view, and anyone who holds it.

No doubt in my mind how this debate would be judged thus far. And you lose. Smile

How absurd. How Bizarre. You want to debate with me, the absurd illogical claims of Real Life as defeated by logic and science, with no logical congruent scientific arguing as done by yourself.

Oh yes, quite for real. When somebody says that Reallife has not laid out a reasoned rationale for her position has quite obviously not read what she has presented or is so ideologically tunnel visioned he or she is unable to comprehend it.

Chum-

There are no established facts to prove A2K exists outside of your own vision. It might be a dream.I sometimes dream of doing posts which really do straighten everybody out.

You think it exists.I think it exists. That we agree doesn't prove it exists.

Believers believe God exists in a similar way and there's a lot of them. They can't imagine God not existing like we can't imagine A2K being ethereal.

You just might have had a teacher who had a strong admiration for an ancient Greek philosopher who wouldn't believe that the Gods existed and he communicated his enthusiasm to you and it's been a plank of your thinking ever since and you've supported yourself so often on it that you can't go back on it without admitting you've been in error all these years because it would make you look foolish which you don't fancy.

And your Mum and Dad might have tossed a coin to decide which school you went to.

Can you prove that's not true when you've forgotten the teacher whose enthusiasm influenced you possibly because he had a silver Chevvy with whitewalls.Or even know why he admired that old jaded Greek stoic.

It's probably unlikely but nevertheless.
