tinkling glass, splash zone, sunken rocks

After 30 minutes of paddling, we discover two parallel falls erupting right out of the forest and spilling down the slope with a soft sound like tinkling glass. In a kayak you can get right into the splash zone, but you can't do that in a powerboat because of sunken rocks.

1 tinkling glass: What is a tinkling glass? Is that a sound? Is the sound when doing what?

2 splash zone: What zone is that? Is that where the fall meets the underneath pond it formed?

3 sunken rocks: Does the fall bring with it rocks and fall together with it down to the pond it formed?
Confused

Like the sound of a wind chime made from glass. Aren't wind chimes quite populat in China, T?

The area of lake that the splash from the parallel falls hits.

3 sunken rocks: Does the fall bring with it rocks and fall together with it down to the pond it formed?

These would be large, ... huge boulders that had tumbled down from the mountains over the centuries. Some could be just below the surface creating a danger for motorboats and their props.

Wind Chime, Ummm. I think you mean one made of several longer or shorter glass(or other material) cylinders. It can be hung in the air by your bedside. Yes, but usually girls do hung them. Sounds wonderful.
