Massive Internet Outage in the Northeast

Internet users across the northeast U.S. reported widespread outages Tuesday.

Verizon reported a cut fiber in Brooklyn via Twitter, although it’s not clear if that issue is responsible for the entire outage. The telecom giant didn’t have any estimate when the problem spot would be fixed.

So you can make one cut in Brooklyn and significantly impact one of the most populated sections of the country?

Pretty much. It's a good example of how things work and are more interconnected than we realize.

It's not too different from what occurs when one major train route has a derailment or some issue arrizes in a major transportation hub or airport.

As for me, my internet connection remained steady.
