I went to the thread. I didn't reply, but I did have a reply box, meaning I could have replied - I guess.

Still, I selected the reply to box. Not sure if I could have made a reply to the thread in general.

That is incorrect. I've not made any error.

My IQ really is 170, so my statement there is correct.

No one can provide any examples of an error in my posts in either that thread or this thread, so my statement there is also correct.

It's entirely possible. While I don't know if the forum software being used here has such an option, assuming it does; it's also possible that a mod suspended their posting privileges for just that particular thread, but not forum-wide (since they could clearly start this thread and post in it). I know the forum software used at the last forum I was at had an option to suspend a member's posting privileges for a particular sub-forum without suspending their posting privileges forum-wide - but I'm pretty sure this site isn't using the same forum software though.

Given the fact that the moderators removed a number of posts that had been exchanged between me and another member in that thread, it seems pretty likely that they temporarily locked the thread while they were deciding how to deal with it.

I was not paying attention to the thread at the time that posting was disabled, but was instead focused on threads with more recent posts, so I can't say for sure that it was locked. But it's the obvious conclusion.

I tried it last night and wasn't able to post, so I saw the same thing Brandon did. The other posts were fine. Either someone temporarily locked it or it was a glitch.

Reaching out to Contact Us would have given you a better/more direct answer on what was possibly happening in this very short-lived case.
