Which one of these is correct?

However, Mr. Nicholson remarked that his wife gave him some sharp words about (him, his) taking the day away deom the house just to ski.

I think either is acceptable. "Taking" functions as a verbal noun, so it can have a possessive pronoun in front of it. The object pronoun is fine too (and more colloquial), as far as I know.

Levi is right. Both are grammatical and the object pronoun form [me,, Bill, him, etc] is the more common form in speech.
