Is there anywhere or way to get the Japanese symbols for:
wasa/waza (technique)
ki (energy)
shin (spirit, attitude)
Thank you
Tony Ciarelli
Hi Tony, Welcome to a2k. I can't guarantee these are correct, but here's one for "waza."

C.I--
The oriental characters aren't coming through.
Noddy, I'm a novice with computers, so I won't be able to help you. It comes out okay on mine. Sorry.

I'm not the one who needs help--just the bearer of bad news. Perhaps if you posted the problem and link on Forum Help?
WASA
Perhaps CI can verify that these are correct.
Only waza seems to have a similar character. The others depend on how it's used, but I see no similarity between yours and what's shown in the translations.
Thanks CI, I just edited it so there is no mistake.
I just did an image search and posted the ones I saw repeated with the same symbol and name.

You need to download Japanese Text Support from Windows Update site
Japanese on Computers
Hiya !!
My first post to this board. I used to have lots of troubles with japanese on computers. windows XP is pretty good, but anything older is a bit of a hassle. often you need to download the japanese IME.
If you do a google search for 'Jim Breen Japanese' you will find a web page that has links about how to set up japanese on your PC and one of the most extensive on-line dictionaries for eng-jap
Hope that helps
Lost in Japan, Welcome to a2k. Thanks for your info on Japanese on computers.
Japanese
Plz give me the symbol for
Immortality
Immoratilty, like most japanese words can use a different symbol depedning on the context used.
Most likely you mean
永生 【えいせい】 eisei (n) eternal life; immortality
litterally - enternal life
or
不死身 【ふじみ】 fujimi (adj-na,n) invulnerability; immortality; insensibility to pain
literally - no death to the body
不死 【ふし】 fushi (n) immortality; eternal life
literally - no death
as you can see, just choosing a single word can be pretty hard. Ideally you want to ask a native japanese person what is commonly used.

One comment about using Japanese/chinese as tattoos (this is my little rant, aimed at no one in particular)
What would you think of if you saw a japanese guy with a big tatoo on his arm that said 'POWER' or 'DEATH' in nice big english letters? I think I would laugh. Kanji may look cool, but to japanese/chinese its just normal letters. Thats how its seen to them!
rant over.
