Here you go:

Artist: Lyrics
Song: Cabaret Lyrics

What good is sitting alone in your room?
Come hear the music play.
Life is a Cabaret, old chum,
Come to the Cabaret.

Put down the knitting,
The book and the broom.
Time for a holiday.
Life is Cabaret, old chum,
Come to the Cabaret.

Come taste the wine,
Come hear the band.
Come blow your horn,
Start celebrating;
Right this way,
Your table's waiting

No use permitting
soem prophet of doom
To wipe every smile away.
Come hear the music play.
Life is a Cabaret, old chum,
Come to the Cabaret!

I used to have a girlfriend
known as Elsie
With whom I shared
Four sordid rooms in Chelsea

She wasn't what you'd call
A blushing flower...
As a matter of fact
She rented by the hour.

The day she died the neighbors
came to snicker:
"Well, thats what comes
from to much pills and liquor."

But when I saw her laid out like a Queen
She was the happiest...corpse...
I'd ever seen.

I think of Elsie to this very day.
I'd remember how'd she turn to me and say:
"What good is sitting alone in your room?
Come hear the music play.
Life is a Cabaret, old chum,
Come to the Cabaret."

And as for me,
I made up my mind back in Chelsea,
When I go, I'm going like Elsie.

Start by admitting
From cradle to tomb
Isn't that long a stay.
Life is a Cabaret, old chum,
Only a Cabaret, old chum,
And I love a Cabaret!

Lola, you appear to be suffering symptoms of spendicitus.

Continual copying, preaching etc from reference books and the like simply to be word perfect is neither beneficial or compulsory, unless of course you are studying for a GCE examination.

Our friend Spendius of course being the instigator of this annoying habit of illogical twaddle. It is experience on a personal basis which counts. Rolling Eyes

spendicitus is good, Mathos.....you get a few points, but it would be "neither beneficial nor compulsory" to keep up the twattle.....and it's not, "It is experience on a personal basis which counts" it would be "It is experience on a personal basis that counts." Picking nits, what else do we have to do with our time?

How are you anyway?

I am great Lola thank you for your kind enquiry.
Having spent an eventful weekend in the arms and boudoir of an extremely beautiful lady, I feel enthralled with life. Even Spendius comes across as acceptable.

How are you my dear?

I'm very fine, thank you. The MG and I have been out to visit friends on Long Island. We were going to go to the beach, but it was too chilly......so we went to the plant nursery instead. I bought a few nice plants that are hard to get in Manhattan.......and we returned on the Long Island Railroad just a little bit ago. Very nice day.......very nice friends. Tomorrow is Monday.

Lola, you mention nursery and plants, do you have a roof garden, or are they indoor plants you speak of?

I enjoy the beauty of all plants, grass, trees.

Just imagine how pleased the plants and the grass and the trees must be that you enjoy them.It must be really thrilling for all of them. When you are in Showbusiness what more can you possibly ask for.

Spendi darling......

Plants and trees can be quite interesting and a different medium for artistic expression and beauty.

Mathos,

I have a balcony with a nice garden. I've posted pix on some thread.....probably the New York thread.

And the extremely beautiful woman in whose arms and boudoir you spent the week end.......was she your wife?

I'm keeping it secret Lola.. Thanks for the info on the New York thread, I'll check it out.

Balcony, how high in the sky are you Lola?

I have some beautiful plants and many trees. My land also borders onto a large woodland area, so the variety of specimens are tremendous. Wild life too is abundant. We have a tremendous number of birds nesting this year too. Most of the young are now fledglings, the family of robin's are very beautiful. We have some great tits, nesting in the rafters of my garage and two families of crows, and one mag pie. Old fox pays his nightly visit to see what Ralph has left in his bowl. By the time Ralph stirs and decides to devour him, old wily fox is back in his cosy bed, whiskers dripping gravy, meat and biscuits. Ralph was saving that for a midnight snack.. He gets really confused when its gone missing. Like, no body would dare to touch Ralphs dinner. But old fox, he is as crafty as a woman!!
There, just when you thought I'd changed..
