Hello! My brother has been in the Army for over 10 years and I myself enlisted in the Air Force after September 11, 2001. We are proud to serve together and wanted to get a tattoo that says "Brothers in Arms" in Latin. Could any of you help me with this translation? Thank you so much!

Literally, it would be "fratres in armis," but to make it sound even more Latin, you could simply switch it around, viz. "In armis fratres."

Does it matter?
Does it matter which way I write it or is it up to me? I would like to be as true to the language as possible. Thanks, by the way, for the quick response!

"In armis fratres" sounds more truly Latin (they love to "mess up" the word order, LOL!)

And you're welcome; I'd have responded sooner, but I only discovered your post today.

Have a good one! Smile
