hi, i keep trying to look up seize the moment and all i keep getting is occupo moment. but the latin for seize the day is carpe diem. can anybody tell why it is different. or is there another way??? if so does anybody know any?? cheers.

translators are always dodgy things.
how about this: carpe tempus
note:
occupare means to seize but almost in a military sense.
carpere literally means to pluck or choose (hence also to enjoy).

You're right, Rory: the standard expression is "carpe diem" (literally "seize the day")
