Now i know i should never go with the public opinion....

But does anybody know of any viral infections that involve:
sore throat
cold and flu like symptoms
something rather like narcolepsy
and HUGE lumps on the back of your head?

The only virus i've been in contact with is mumps... damn close contact actually, my chem partner was off all last week Confused

Anyway like i said i know i should go to the doctor but i already did and he said definitely got something, not mumps... but i don't know the symptoms of glandular fever or anything... and i'd like to know what i'm coming down with...

Any doctor who gives out a diagnosis of "definitely got something", IMO, should be traded in for another physician. Did that genius take blood? You can spot mono through a blood test, 'cause white counts go sky high. Did he try to figure out what the lumps are?

You can have severe swollen glands from "mono", but that would be under your jawbone, not the back of your head. You can be very, very tired. I know, from personal experience. I had it when I was sixteen. I was out of commission for six weeks.

Please get a second opinion.

I had no idea what CFS was, so I Googled that, and came up with:

Now, I am not a doctor, and have no idea what you have, but I think that you need to explore this with a doctor who knows what he is doing. Good luck!
