Exactly.
btw nice Kissinger avatar not2know
Hanson wrote that there is an Anti American Industry of recent vintage.
There is no industry. People are much more savvy than you would give them credit for. The "ugly American" image has been with us since the 1950s.
Hanson wrote that Americans are characatured as fat.
Americans are fat.
Hanson wrote the people in the Middle East were spoon fed Anti American sentiments by Europeans.
Hanson ignores US attack on Iraq. He ignores the fact that Saudis have sent their sons to American universities for two generations. These princes have a first hand knowledge of America. No wonder they hate us.
Hanson wrote about Europeans being mired in high taxes and low growth and stale economies.
He also wrote about immigrants flooding America.
What about the immigrants to England and France and Germany. Those countries are full of immigrants and guest workers.
Doesn't George Bush want to bring guest workers into America?
The English economy was stale during the 1950s and 1960s but that may have been due to destruction of WWII. Wages in England were lower than wages in America when you compared like jobs to each other.
There was a high rate of unemployment in France during the 1970s.
British wages have risen. The French shortened the work week to employ more people.
So far, no facts.
Hanson failed to tell me how France profited from Saddam. We should really be angry about that as we created Saddam. How dare the French profit from our monster!
If Hanson is so factual, where are his facts?
He doesn't need any facts in an editorial.
What did you think of the Spengler article? It is an editorial as well.
What Atkins said.
Hanson said that Europe profited from Saddam. But, seriously: if Lockheed Martin had profited from the Taliban, would you have taken to the streets to demonstrate against the invasion of Afghanistan? Hardly.
The people in Europe didn't protest in favor of Saddam Hussein or, as Hanson tries to put it, because they crassly profited from Saddam. That's just outright ridiculous. People were against the war.
Maybe I can help you, McG. Here is an example of news analysis. See if you can figure out how this differs from the Hanson piece.

You suggest that it's no wonder that anyone with first hand knowledge of the US would hate the US.
What did they see over here that causes you to think "it's no wonder" that they hate the US?
In other words, what do you see that causes you to hate the US, Atkins?
Looks like members of the EU are right. Bush is a warmonger.
