I have to agree that kids today are sheltered from nothing.
Those who have been raised under the sheilding umbrella of Mom, Dad and Big Brother find this alarming.
For those of us in between the younger (teens) generations and the older (50+ year olds) find them both a bit concerning.

I have a feeling that, as frightening as it seems by looking at them, this younger generation may raise some pretty headstrong kids themselves because thay haven't had to filter Mom, Dad's and Big Brother's bullshit from the realities of the street, school and life in general.

It's almost a nirvanic state they could find themselves in:
"Ok, here's a dude blowing donkies, a multi-platinum singer charged with his 3 child molestation accusation, the President of the US lying to his little subjects, people being blown up, jumping from scyscrapers, people being beheaded on film...and here's religion on your doorstep, the world coming together in times of natural disasters, unprecedented individuals bearing "billionaire" status, democracy being spread around the globe, people laughing and smiling...etc etc.
The good, the bad, the truths and untruths--they'll filter through the crap at speeds that would put any geriatric into cardiac arrest.
I don't see this all as an inherent evil...just another evolutionary hurdle or mudpuddle through which to pass.
