I found this record of my great grandfather in a local church in Malaysia. Today, nobody use Latin anymore in this country. I should be much grateful if someone can help my family translating this document so that we can trace our root. My great grandfather's name on the certificate is Lam Fuk On.
@mrlawrencelam,
George is the one to translate and he may be along shortly, but from my limited knowledge I'd say it was a certificate of baptism.
"In the year of Our Lord 1887 on the 17th of April, I, Torin, Apostolic
Missionary of this church, Sacred Heart of Jesus in Machang-Buboh, have
solemnly baptized Lam Fuk On, the legitimate son of Virginia on the day of
his birth; to whom is given the name Justinius. The sponsors were Iniau En
Vu & Lam Charlotte Yus."
I am not completely certain that I have gotten the names written in script
correct.
