It depends on how he's packaged. This last election made that crystal clear. We have young people dying in a selfish war but the so-called righteous voted for the warmonger all the same because he claimed to be one of their own.

as it has done with every nation that allowed it to take control of the government. some of them recovered after civil war, others fell apart, and some continue to intrude in people's lives. examples being ; most of europe. ireland. england. afghanistan. iran. it could be argued that israel has had a positive influence of religion, i suppose.

the founding fathers, having seen the calamity caused by mixing religion in the role of government, chose to establish a secular government and a nation of laws. neither of which prevents a person from practicing their religion in the worship place of their choice or at home.
