Is a test of spoken English necessary? Nowadays, these topic is increasing popular and hot.
There are huge number of people maintain that a test of English is very necessary. It is unvalued, if a person only can write English words but have no capable of speaking. Speaking is the capital way of communication.
However, some body claim that if we can get the idea from the foreign reading matter that all. It is not key point can we speak fluent English.
I back up having a test of spoken English. We always hear a sentence like that:Communication knows no bounds. If we can not speak fluent English how can we get touch with the friends from foreign country. So I often practice my oral English on morning.

Vincent, Welcome to A2K. I believe that conversational English is the first step in learning the language. I agree with you that speaking is more important than writing, as that will come later.

If we here on A2K can help, let us know.

Change "these" to "this" since spoken English is only one topic. If you were to have said "Is a test of spoken and written English necessary?" you could be able to use the plural "these."

You are right about speaking, but also writing is vital. Not so long when I wasn't thinking highly about writing, but now I do.

I think writing opens another portal for you, and make you think more about the words using.

Hi everybody, and welcome to A2K vicent04 Smile

Also, something can be "increasing in popularity" or it can be "increasingly popular."

Increasing popular is not correct, although I can't recite a rule for you to follow. I'm sure someone here can, though.

I'm glad you are here. Welcome to A2K.

If we test how well a person writes English, shouldn't we test how well they speak it? The question is a popular one, a hot topic of conversation, maybe those conversations should be in English. Many people think a written test is necessary, but without a test of the spoken word, such a test loses it's value. Speaking is a primary way of communicating.

Some have argued that if we get the main idea from an article from foreign reading matter that's good enough, that it's not important that we speak as well as write fluent English, but I support the idea of a test of spoken English. We often hear the saying that communication knows no bounds. If we can not speak fluent English how can we get touch with the friends from foreign countries? So I often practice my oral English in the morning.

I hope you like the changes, Vincent, I think you are correct that speaking a language can be as important as writing it.

Hi everybody! I can't tell you how glad I felt when I saw these replies from you. It is really important to me. That is very kind of you! Some friends around of mine always said that my expression has so lots problems that sometimes hardly to understand in English which make me feel depressed when I heard that. There is no doubt that you give me a hand with my poor English and encouragement.
Thank you!
I'm very sorry that I haven't given you a introduction by myself.
I'm a junior come from Beijing China. Vicent is my English name. I'm studying at Photographic Institute of Beijing Film Academy and preparing to take part in a test of entering institute next year. Become a postgraduate is my expectation. Maybe it is a challenge to me, but I am must to face it.
In my opinion only this way and this way alone can let me achieve my goal.
