Why don't all the moderate common sense thinkers, what the right now calls liberals, pick a state and move there en masse? Infiltrate the economic base, the political base, move things around the way we want them and then calmly and peacefully secede from the Union and set up trade with the rest of the country. Have immigration rules to protect our borders and have that be the only function of a military and remain neutral in all wars except those that directly effect us? Keep out the far left as well as the far right and do things the way we want them done.
We could call our new country COMMONSENSIA.
Who's with me? And who's bringing the potato salad for our first meeting?
Can we build a giant wall around our peaceful state so that none of the weirdos can get in?
It's sorta happening already (or has been for a while now...).
It's called California, the 5th largest economy in the world.
Although, watching the Governator get mouth cancer and generally make an a$$ out of himself has set us back just a bit...
Well then we will just break Cali off and be an island!
The Libertarians already tried it. Sadly, they did not succeed. (Or secede.)

" moderate common sense thinkers"
You think very highly of yourself...as you should I suppose.
Notice the no far left or far right? Lets many Cali and tmany Libertarians out pretty much. No offense as I would rather have either a far left liberal or a libertarian as a neighbor than a neo con but I'm talking about a place for moderates who believe in as little government interference as possible but not in arming every man woman and child (libertarian) or distributing wealth 100% evenly without regard to effort. (far left).
COMMONSENSIA is the name.

And we hear from those of you without a sense of humor....

I believe in what I believe in, just like you. What's the problem. It's okay for you but not for me? Where's the sense in that?

Um, isn't that spelt C-A-N-A-D-A?
I think it's spelled V-E-R-M-O-N-T but it's too C-O-L-D for me.
Something about C-A-N-A-D-A and the blue states that just seems to make common sense these days...
A moderate liberal?....mmmkkkff.....heh....snrx...HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

You really do seem to have come up with an astonishingly good idea here. I might even be willing to kick in some money.

I'll want to sweep it for electronic devices...

My desire for you to succeed is sincere, believe me. There is only one suggestion for improvement I could make. Proximity to the US might result in some contamination that nobody wants. I hear that many parts of Africa and Asia have excellent weather all year around.

Every little bit will help if we are to successfully secede from Dumbf***instan...
Didnt Vermont get so liberal in the first place because progressives flocked to Manchester (EDIT: I meant Burlington) in the 70s exactly in such a cause - to create a place of their own where they could become dominant?
I know the Libertarians have been trying it with New Hampshire (which won a vote against Montana as the destination of choice among those who pledged to take part) - but someone already posted a link about that.
