Damn, that was funny, Gus. It's all in the timing, isn't it? That post...that was perfect timing. You're like the Kobe Bryant of A2K.

I'd say that comparing Michael and kobe is like comparing Magic and Bird - what's the point? I think Bird is a big di*khead, but he could play basketball - so what?

Kicky, give Gus the credit he deserves, he's the Jordan and Pippen combined of A2K.

You think? I'm thinking more like Wilt Chamberlin. Didn't he bang over a thousand women? Yeah, that sounds more like Gus.

I don't know if Kicky was replying to just snood or to both of us, but in case it's both of us, I'll point out that I what I said doesn't really contradict Kicky's take:

Kobe now and Jordan in his prime -- no contest. Kobe may still get there though, and the assist stuff indicates that maybe he's on his way.

Don't mind me I'm biased and drunk but Soz is still right.

Soz - funny thing is, I think Kobe right now could probably give Mike in his prime a run, one-on-one.

But even if his prowess as a cager right now eclipsed Jordan a hundredfold, he still seems like a pitiful little self-absorbed punk to me.

I'd love to see that. Heck, I'd love to see it NOW. I bet Michael would do it in a second.

I know that character bleeds into all of this but even that aside I think Michael as a player had more depth to him -- not just the quickness or the jumping ability or whatever measurable talent but the ability to psyche out his opponent, the ability to figure out the precise moment to strike, the ability to control the pace and just dominate in every way.

Anyway, if nothing else all of this has got me going through serious NBA withdrawal, I want to shoo the kid out the door to play and watch about 6 playoff games back to back.

What, you don't think Jordan ever watched Dr. J. play?

I think it would be a much closer contest than you think. Don't make me pull out the charts and graphs. Kobe is incredible.

Don't get me wrong. I also loved watching Jordan play. I remember how Jordan could take over a game. I remember how great he was. Do you remember the playoff game against the Jazz in '97 or '98 when he was sick as a dog, and he still scored something like 37 points and made the dagger shot at the end of the game? I'm not taking anything away from Jordan. I'm just saying, Kobe is that good.

Well, like you said, he is young. We will see.

By the way, there is a good game on right now, Soz! Turn it on! The Clippers could win the series tonight, setting up the possibility of an all-LA series. Lakers/Clippers. That would be very interesting.

I'm so pissed they aren't showing that on regular cable. Yeah, the Pistons are very tough. But what happened to them this weekend? Wooooo, what a beating they took. How the hell did that happen?

It can happen to anyone - look at the struggle the champs are in. The true measure is how they bounce - and my boys bounced quite well.

Yes, they definitely did.

So are the Lakers going to be playing the Clippers this time next week? I hope so.

Doesn't matter that much to me about the Lakers and clips - If the suns win, I'll be happy because I'd have seen a good, hard-fought battle. If the lakers win, ditto, plus I'll get to see the long rivalry between the Lakes and Clips played out again.

As much as I love seeing Kobe in the playoffs, I think it would be pretty good to see Sam Casell and the Clippers dispatch the Lakers with extreme prejudice.

By the way, I wonder who the Pistons will be playing in the finals this year. I don't see anyone in the east that is even close to having the team to beat them.

In the West, maybe, but not in the East.

Yeah, buddy!! Lakers/Suns 7 promises to be good! 96% of all teams that have achieved a 3-1 advantage, have gone on to win the 7 game series, BUT something like 78% of all HOME team game 7's have been won (some stats they were quoting on NBAtv last night)...

So, since they're playin game 7 in Phoenix, anything could happen!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Sacramento can do some damage to the San Antone SBores.
