I read a ton of these. Thanks for the recommendation. It seems like anyone who has been in a lab during their lives has some kind of story like those. I know I have a couple! Thanks again Jack.

In college chemistry, we used the same rubber hoses for both water and gas, and the outlets for water and gas looked very much the same. One day I accidentally hooked the bunsen burner to the water outlet. My lab partner held a flint over the bunsen burner to light it, turned the lever, and a huge jet of water streamed out the top of the bunsen burner and hit the ceiling. It was incredibly funny, although the teacher didn't think so.
