There are a lot of talks about the danger of mercury amalgam for tooth fillings,
they say it's a time bomb, there are some reports, but the conclusion is still pending........

www.geocities.com/Athens/Aegean/9318/amalgam.html :

"Amalgam ("silver") fillings contain 50% mercury, 35% silver, 13% tin, 2% copper, and a bit of zinc. Amalgam's cheapness, ease of placement, and durability make it the filling material favoured by 92% of dentists. The Canadian Dental Association (CDA) insists that there is no scientific evidence linking medical illness symptoms to mercury fillings, except relatively for rare allergic sensitivity to mercury. Others with less conflict of interest beg to differ.

Amalgam tooth fillings are by far the most significant source of mercury exposure for the general population. It is well-established that amalgam fillings continuously release mercury vapour during chewing, brushing, and eating hot and/or acidic foods. Most of this vapour is inhaled. A World Health Organization committee has estimated that people with amalgam tooth fillings are exposed to from three to 17 micrograms of mercury daily, compared it a maximum of 2.6 micrograms from all other sources combined. Other researchers contend that just one amalgam filling can release as much as 10 micrograms per day."

www.life.ca/nl/53/mercury.html :
"weden has banned mercury amalgam dental fillings, effective January, 1997, after determining that at least 250,000 Swedes have immune and other health disorders directly related to the mercury in their teeth. Denmark will ban amalgams beginning in January 1999.

In 1991, Germany's Health Ministry recommended to the German Dental Association that no further amalgam fillings be placed in children, pregnant women, or people with kidney disease, and in 1993 this was extended to include all women of child-bearing age, pregnant or not. Austria is also phasing out mercury fillings......"

I have a lot of quick silver filled teeth, about more than 15 teeth( Embarrassed because
I didn't pay attention to mouth hygiene when I was little, now I got my lesson of course Embarrassed ), I'm worried, and I suspect that mercury maybe one of the causes of my depression and sometimes bipolar personality, I wonder if any of you have the same problem ? I often have
trouble fall asleep too early, I mean before 1 or 2 AM in the morning. Sometimes I'm emotional too.....

Has any of you ever considered remove or replace your dental filling with less toxic substance?

It seems less poisonous materials have a shorter duration comparing with mercury dental fillings!

I hope it's not too late for me, some people (M.D.) even assert that mercury dental fillings will greatly increase you chance of getting dementia......... I'm not adult yet but I do think my memory is worse off than my peers in school......
