@reasoning logic,
Not good enough; saying the US is headed for socialism is a statement without much fact or basis. We are a capitalistic society and economy; always have been, always will be. Socialistic country? You're out of your freq'n mind.

Is this a fact or something you learned in church?

He does too. He doesn't do facts. Even that is fiction.

You only think that because you have not been introduced to the Rev Poe of reason.

It Is Only A Day, But...
Oil prices fell $2.54 to $105.55 (-2.3%) today.
What do you all make of that?

@realjohnboy,
The cost of refining oil at that price, the raw cost of gasoline is $2.50/gallon. Now add commodity trade price, and the cost of transportation to the oil refineries, and then from the refinery to the retailers.

The average tax on gasoline is .50c/gallon.

I wonder how the GOP promises of $2.50 gallon is going to get done?

@reasoning logic,
Isn't language a wonderful thing? American conservatives keep churning out those scary talking points about Socialism and how Obama is a socialist, and what do they achieve? They de-sensitize their audience to socialism, that's what. I bet if they hadn't run all those talking points, Americans would still mistrust Socialists a good deal more.

@Thomas,
Maybe I have it wrong but it seems that even republican voters are slaves to this system.
Do not get me wrong some people may be in a better position to profit from the status quo but it sure seems to me that the majority of people are getting a real screwing when people are being arrested with trumped up charges for protesting and confronting the corruption.

That you keep your eye on prominent news items in case any of us miss them due to getting stuck down a mine shaft. What else can we make of it rjb?

I hope that answers you question.

The politicians response to the protest movement. Protect the 1% of which the politicians are part of.

@RABEL222,
Isn't US politics wonderful? Run for office, and play party politics to get them to support your wealth. Spend over $50 billion dollars to defeat your own party candidate, because money is not a problem. The rest of the sheep will follow. It's a win-win for Romney. That is, until November when he really faces the rath of the women and evangelicals. What fun!

@cicerone imposter,
Sorry CI, but fun and wonderful are not descriptions I would apply to politicians or the political scene.

Another circularity. His premiss is that artificial birth control is aimed to enhance the welfare of women. Many women do not accept that premiss and thus have no wrath at Mr Romney.

It may be that there are more women who accept ci's premiss than don't but they will be seen by the other women as having been bamboozled, browbeaten and banjaxed by chaps like ci. for pretty obvious reasons. And the companies which benefit from the items involved all of which are ghastly, dangerous and inimical to the natural relations between the sexes.

@RABEL222,
It's a whole new history in politics where the GOP spends tens of billions to destroy their own politicians. I find that amusing - "wonderful, and fun(ny)."

I have been doing some catch up on watching Max Keiser and I noticed he said the most profitable industry in America is the prison industry. Do you think this is correct? He seems to have some really good ideas on how to solve a lot of the economic problems in this video and like always, he is able to do it humorously.

Today, Obama nominated a medical doctor with no demonstrated economical competence to head the world bank. In a global recession, an economically-competent World-Bank president could make a big difference. Jefferey Sachs, who would have been perfect for the role, was available---indeed he practically begged for the job. But it seems Obama had other priorities. I am not a happy camper.

Me either, though it is fair to say that the position of heading the World Bank is more of a political one than an economic one.
