Your story re Paul and that particular bar ring true re his personality. Straightforward, listening, curious, inventive, poetic, a true hunter-gatherer.

Thanks, will o the whisp. It's great getting these little extra bits of cav to think about.

I recall that location by the Fran's. A couple of us first met cav at the Finn McCool's there.

Please do, I like the little memories of cav and timber that folks post from time to time.
I just recalled, or is it my imagination, didnt cav and Timber leave us at approximatelt the same times of year?

I thought about that last week or so when I saw the post from a new member that had just learned of Cav's passing. Looked it up and yes... I'm not superstitious, but I have been leary when signing on for the past week or so.

Thank you, Will'O. I love hearing your stories and selfishly want to hear more, more often.

God, I miss Cav.

Raising glass to Cav and Will'O. Cheers!

Hi, everyone.

My apologies for not writing a post about Cav for some years. Between work, family and daily life, I barely have any free time these days.

That being said, I'm going to try to keep this thread alive each year, and make some infrequent appearances. I still have lots of memories of my friend, and more than a few tales to share.

Here's a small one. When we were in grade school, Cav's family lived beside one of our classmates. As it happened, Cav's window basically faced her room and...well, you can sort of guess how many times his eyes occasionally gazed off into a particular direction. She was quite pretty, so who could blame him? Very Happy

I was curious to (ahem) observe this situation for myself. So naturally, we peer out his window. There she was, with a couple of her attractive friends. Within a minute or two, one of them noticed two young boys staring (or ogling, if you wish) in their general direction. They smiled right back at us -- and we hid for cover! Foolishly, we checked back within a short period of time...and there they were, guarding the window with big smiles on their faces! Laughing

Having been caught red-handed, I don't remember ever doing that again with Cav. And if we did, I'd like to think that we accomplished our goal with more intelligence -- and less tongue wagging!

Ah, childhood memories.

Take care, folks.

It would be wonderful if you did that.

As you would have gathered, quite a few of of us here remember Cav/Paul with huge affection & respect & would be absolutely delighted to share your recollections of him.

Now that you've revived this thread, I'm going to read it again, right from the start!
