"The girl with colitis goes by"
"The girl with kaleidoscope eyes"
-Beatles, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
There are tons out there...post away.
There's a bathroom on the right
There's a bad moon on the rise
That's right, Mac
'Scuse me while I kiss this guy"
Purple Haze 'Scuse me while I kiss the sky"
Remember Walking In The Sand :
(remember) walkin' in the sand
(remember) walkin' hand in hand
(remember) the night was so exciting
(remember) smile was so inviting (OR THE SEAGULLS WERE A-BITING)
Ah mondegreens! See: www.mondegreensorbet.com
for many of 'em.
One of mine:
I'm not talkin' 'bout the linen
really: I'm not talkin' 'bout movin' in
(from "I'd really love to see you tonight").
Is "mondegreens" a misheard lyric? Seems like it should be, but I can't place it...
Black girls just wanna get fuc-ed all night...
Oh wait, that WAS what he said....
I nominate anything by Husker Du that was produced by Spot.
"Bringing in the sheep, bringing in the sheep, we will come rejoicing bringing in the sheep."
Mondegreen is from a poem (eek, I can't recall the title). The real line is something like the death of Lord so-and-so and they laid him on the green.
And someone, some time ago, heard it as the death of Lord so-and-so and Lady Mondegreen.
I'm a weenie in a bottle, baby..
Caught the elephant avatar again Monger...perfect match to the lyric...
How about that ELO hit "Medieval Woman"?
"Laid him on the green"....sounds kinda dirty....
Thanks for the reference
"Later on we'll perspire
As we dream by the fire..."
Should be: "Later on we'll conspire..."
"Where the deer and the canteloupe play..."
Should be "...antelope..."
--Home on the Range
I like the image of deer eating canteloupe....
Yep, that was for you, Cav!
I like these two, always made me laugh.
Blinded by the light
Held up like a loofah by the foreman of the night
I'd like ta douche, my Sharonna of the night
Blinded by the light Wrapped up like a deuce another runner in the night
Smoke on the water
Slow motion walter, fire engine guy
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
Gladly the cross-eyed bear.
