You're still up, so am I ... still waiting for Bartikus
to reply ... I'll wait for a little longer ... I'm now into reading about philosophy, science and religion and it's great for understanding ... just finished "The Philosophy Gym" by Stephen Law ... amongst many others just recently ... have a read ... I think 674 pages here mean that there's a digging in from the creationists ... I understand how some can be threatened by an diminution of their faith ... my faith was always in Jesus, not creationism ... and I'm still a bit uncomfortable with what I've done ...

Well, Stevo, i'm "up" because i'm in the eastern time zone of North America--so i "got up" about three hours ago.

I don't know what prescribes the daily electronic round of the member Bartikus--but i do know he is one of the imaginary friend crowd, so that all of his "contributions" will inevitably be conditioned by his religious delusions . . .

Ah, the Eastern side ... I used to email friends in Hartford and Raleigh not long ago ... I've always had a science bent in me, but still a soft spot for Jesus ... but I think religion has outlived its usefulness, we have moved on to live in civilised societies with the rule of law ... well in the United States and Australia … I think we have an inbuilt mechanism to be moral, so religion doesn't need to be a cause. My un-PC argument extends to all religions. I'm waiting to be stricken down!!!

Don't worry, in theory your use of words will evolve.

WTF? ... without going into the words that may offend you, where's your argument? Although I said I was awkward with words, I'm willing to debate you on matters of fact ... OK ... I'm waiting ...

The Australian equivalent of poor white trash speak a brand of their patois known as "Strine"--from their pronunciation of the word "Australian." Oz is a wry take-off on how the pronounce Australia--Oz-streye-lee-ya . . .

Who/what are you responding to there? Haven't noticed anyone taking you on - rather the upposite, actually.

Hi Stevo, I simply meant that it's not that easy to "win" arguments on these threads. I'm not sure anyone ever "wins". About the most you can hope for is to get someone to see your point of view, however briefly.

Set is right, I'm not getting on your case. Just making comments. Smile

Best Regards,

Thanks Set. I never would have figured that out. Although I should have suspected it from listening to The Crocodile Hunter on TV.

I'm still up ... I resent the put down as trash ... what's that got to do with this thread's argument? ... in fact Australia is one of the most egalitarian counties in the world ... I can argue that, but maybe in another thread now, where was I ... going to bed ...

BTW, what's the matter with calling Australia Oz? ... or talking about Steve Irwin ... Steve hams it up to the TV cameras and makes a million ... he's not dumb … good luck to him ... if I'm awkward with words or misspell, that doesn't mean I'm dumb too ...

Pfft... You can tell Steve's hamming it up for the cameras when he's not talking to the camera and working with the others in the zoo. The serious look on his face, the quietness. There isn't a single manic smile on his lips when he's doing that stuff.

Your spelling is much better than that of many regulars on this forum who refuse to use spell check, thereby trusting comprehension to the reader, a true faith-based decision.

You will find that a2k spell check works pretty well once you learn its idiosyncracies.
