This story was told to me by a friend. She swears that it is the truth.
L....'s mother in law, years ago, lived in a rural part of Pennsylvania. It was so safe there, that people never locked their doors. When a delivery person had a package, he just opened the door, and left the package on the kitchen table.
Anyhow, one day the woman wanted to do some laundry. She goes over to the washing machine. She realized that the stuff that she was wearing was rather grubby, and desides to throw them in the wash with her other things.
She takes her clothes off, and puts them into the washer. At that moment, she notices that an overhead pipe is leaking slightly. Not wanting to get her hair wet, she grabs her son's football helmet, and puts it on.
All of a sudden she becomes aware that another person is in the room. A delivery man, package in hand, is staring right at her. He takes one look, and blurts out,
"i don't know what team you are playing on lady, but I sure hope that you win"!
