I think you're seeing what you want to see, mcGentrix.
Look again.
I read that as a general statement about the problem with holding people indefinitely without trial (which is that if someone is innocent you'd never find out). And I'm actually certain that's what she meant.
Gus, which innocents would she be referring to? Is not the title of this thread "Padilla must be charged or freed"?
Presumed innocence.
Covers everybody.
Except you.
We're not going to start fighting are we, McGentrix? I've seen your photo. You're a pretty big guy.
But I carry a pitchfork.
Fighting? Nah.
Discussing current events from different perspectives is all.
You're a liberal, aren't you?

Boy, you sure know where to hit where it hurts.
Are you a corporate executive on wall street?
McG, Padilla is not the only person who has been held without charges -- not even the only American citizen. It's pretty clear that revel was talking in a general sense.
<trying my new technique>
Innocent until proven guilty is a cornerstone of the American legal system. Why do you hate the American way of life so much?
We have threads about the others. They are being held in Guantanamo Bay. They are getting their proper due process under the law.
Padilla is not like the others. This thread is not about the others. Padilla is an American citizen that was ready to commit terrorist acts against his own country.
McG, McG. You must be multi-tasking because it's clear you're not giving this your full attention.
This is about a Supreme Court decision that would affect all American citizens (he was not the only American citizen held without charges) who were classified as enemy combatants. It is a precedent setting decision. If the decision had gone the other way there would certainly be more Padillas.
I think you are intentionally misinterpreting what revel said.
Don't let him mess with your head, freeduck.
Gee McG, if Revel were talking about an innocent (singular) I can see how you'd be confused.
Since she said innocents (plural) I'm at a loss to see how you could think she meant Padilla in particular.
Again, your deliberately misinterpreting someone's post has made you seem a little dim.
Quote:Does it bother any of the liberals here that Padilla is repeatedly called "the innocent" while Gannon is nothing more than a whore?
People who don't wish to be called a whore shouldn't run web sites
advertising themselves as a whore!
Have you recently suffered a blow to the head, or something? You've really fallen off these last few weeks.
