Does this guy like me?

There's this guy that I just went on a school trip with. We've also been partners before for things and he approached me about it. He always says hi and starts a conversation about how I'm doing. We were standing in line in the airport and I had my suitcase near me but since we weren't moving, i wasn't holding it, he then proceeded to grab it and move it when the line moved again. I noticed he did this and tried to make it obvious that I knew, but he kept moving it and then brushed it off like nothing had happened. I was also talking about relaunching the model rocket we made in a class we have together and he kinda asked if he could come watch and I said maybe. He then muttered under his breath "i have no way of contacting you". He said this loud enough so I could hear though.

2 years back he also use to say hi to me all the time in the hallway even though I never responded.

He has had a girlfriend but as of right now I'm not sure if he has one.

More importantly: do you like him?

If you want to start something up then simply start talking to him. No need to make him take the first step. That’s outdated.

There is only one way to find out if he likes you is to ask him for a coffee & a sandwich or something & see how it goes from there. He can only say no!

Why can't you invite him out for a soda and fries? ask him to join him at a game, invite him to watch your event that he asked about.

In any case, it seems like he'd like to at least talk with you and you seem to be making it difficult.

Just use basic courtesies. Say hi, ask him to join you at events etc. Talk to him.

No need to guess.

It’s possible that saying he has no way to contact you, was his way of seeing if you would offer your number, without beeing too forward and asking outright.

Maybe he likes you but is unsure of how to proceed, since you have never responded to him in the hallway. Based on those past experiences, he wouldn’t know if you were shy or didn’t want him to talk to you.

The suitcase thing could be an automatic reaction for someone whose Mother taught him to always assist a lady when he sees an opportunity. I’m guessing this could be the case with this young man, since he was not forward enough to ask for your number directly.

But you can analyze a thing to death, and never even come close to the truth. Lol! I think you’re going to have to ask the young man if he wanted your number. I agree that there’s nothing wrong with a girl asking a boy if they’d like to hang out sometime...grab a shake or go on an outing.
