My bed. I am coming down with a cold and my head is about 85 lbs. I just want to lay down and be enveloped in its glorious softness and warmth.

My photography equipment and all of my computers. (Is it possible to love an inanimate object?) Our use of the word "love" is quite peculiar. We can love our kids, love our car, love our dog, love our shoes, love whatever and somehow it seems to cheapen the word. Go figure. Confused

I love life.

I love the sunshine and the rain.
I love happiness and pain.
I love lessons, good and bad.
I love Mom and I love Dad.
I love the ocean and the sky,
The twinkle in a lovers eye,
First signs of Spring, or Summer, Fall.
Doesn't matter, I love them all.

I love wagging tails and butterflies.
I love cricket songs and baby bird cries.
I love the canyons and the mountains.
I love dancing in those sidewalk fountains. (Really cool idea!)
I love singing soft and laughing loud.
Making pictures from a cloud,
A lake or a stream, Ooooh, a puddle... Don't fall!
Doesn't matter, we can wash it all.

I love the waddle of a ducks behind.
I love unknown acts of being kind.
I love sleeping late and rising early.
I love soft and gentle, or rough and burly.
I love fresh cut hay and mornings chill,
Kids in church that can't sit still,
Young or old, short or tall,
Doesn't matter, I love you all.

I love life.

I'm certainly no poet, but as I started writing what I love I noticed it was rhyming, so I went with it. Any real poets, please forgive me. Very Happy

Thank you, all. Embarrassed

I thought it sounded childish... though that's a major part of me, still. My Mom has never grown up, and I'm hoping I won't either.

There's just so much to love. And, I don't think loving so many things diminishes love at all. Rather than diminishing the meaning of the word, I think it builds and strengthens us.

(I couldn't work into the poem the smell of a horse, roller coasters, or book stores. But I love those, too.)
