Combe Down on the outskirts of Bath faces going down the hole literally because the mines on which their homes were built are in danger of collapse, miners who are temporally shoring up the mines can hear car radios as they work so close are the mines roofs to the road on the surface.
I believe they are other places in a similiar position eg. Nantwich in Cheshire.
wow I didn't know that mines were ever placed that close to the surface. Does everyone in the town know which houses are in the most danger of falling? I would think the government might take some emergency/preventative measures in this case.
