Depending on context "Threading the Needle" can also apply although it is usually only used in a military context. It's when a plane flies low to avoid air defense radar systems.

Another term that is used is "flying on the deck". Not sure where this comes from, but is likely a naval term for pilots who just can't seem to land on the damn carrier (not an easy thing anyway).
Cjhsa how about buying the farm that is really on the deck. Flying on the deck is a crash landing I think.
