What the heck?? Why do I seem to be getting a rash of papercuts the past 2 weeks? Like right now I have 6, that about doubles my life time total.

Turn on a humidifier and see if that helps.

When the air is very dry I get paper cuts galore.

A friend of mine is a nurse and she washes her hands a million times a day so her skin gets very dry. She swears by this method: soak you hands in very hot water, then soak them in olive oil, then pull on a pair of surgical gloves, then go to sleep. When you wake up you will have lovely hands with supple skin that will not cut as easily.

If the olive oil remedy is a bit messy or extreme for regular use, a really good moisturizing lotion also helps. I love Kerry lotion available in any grocery or drug store, but there are many other brands out there that also work. Just remember to liberally apply after washing hands, washing dishes, or during the day. Makes a huge difference.

I agree with Boomerang – it seems in the winter, the amount of paper cuts I get increase substantially. I leave moisturizer on my desk to remind me to use it frequently.
