I was just wondering what everyone's background is in history or your qualifications. Who has a PhD, who never made it past high school? I'm still trying to decide what to major in so any info on your experience will also help.
Study what you love. Most people do not end up in their field of study unless it's law, medicine or accounting. As a former Art History major I can tell you I loved the education, but knew I could not make a living at it. In the 80's I helped found a company that designed and installed computer networks for small business' - a job that did not even exist when I was in college. Now I'm a landscaper. Go to a good school, enjoy the journey and don't worry about the details.
My profile gives a pretty good overview of my education. If there is anything I can do to help, just ask.
to decide on a major should be dependent on what you plan on doing. If you just want to go to college just to go, that would be a bad idea. I think that since you are in this interest you have made up your mind. Look for proffesions where you could use your history degree.
Oh, I have a BA in history and am a highschool history teacher
