We have a Little People manger scene that we had up for Christmas. But when we put it away, the baby was missing.

Yesterday, we were cleaning the playroom and Yaya shouts, "I found Jesus!"

Keetah's a trip, too.

Asking her if she's silly, or a cute girl, her reply is invariably, "No! I Keetah!"

Keetah has a good sense of self--she's not an adjective, she's a proper noun.

Recovering from a tummy ailment, Yaya was offered jello.

"No thank you, it's too bouncy."

Just when you get used to something....

I had just praised Yaya for doing something and called her cute.

A moment later I turned to Keetah and asked, "And how about you? Are you Keetah?"

"No! I a cute baby!"

Yaya gets to ask for a silly song at bedtime (sometimes it's an actual song, usually we have to make something up for the title she picks).

Tonight she asked for "My hair got lost and I look like Daddy."

Keetah wanted to read a book, and was not happy about being told "no." She replied, "but I picked this one, momma grouch!"

Yaya's replies to the relationship questions posted on another thread:

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHOM TO MARRY?
Yaya: Find a good person.
Mama: What's a good person like?
Yaya: Daddy

WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
Yaya: 11

HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
Yaya: I don't know. Because you are grown ups.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON?
Yaya: That they feed their children every day, and so do other parents.

WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
Yaya: You go shopping.

WHAT WOUL D YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
Yaya: I would leave.

WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
Yaya: When you know them and you go to the right house.

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
Yaya: Married, because I'd like to be a grown-up.

HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?
Yaya: People wouldn't be grown-ups.

So I've given Keetah breakfast, and I hear her say "bug!" (She loves to find bugs.)

A few minutes later she tells me, "bug taste good!" Shocked

Turns out, it was a sprinkle from a donut. Laughing
