A Sunny Saturday

You don't get many sunny, warm Saturdays in February around here. The wife and I scuttled our plans and headed out on an unplanned day. A late breakfast, a hike in the woods, an obscene amount of Rocky Road ice cream, a few other stops and eventually back home again.

We have dinner reservations on Valentine's Day and there will be the usual flowers, candy, etc. Still, I'd trade a dozen Valentine's Days for one day like today.

What's your pleasure on an unplanned day?

Those unplanned days of leisure are simply the best thing ever.

When a get an unplanned day my favorite thing is to just sit down and read uninterrupted.

Of course, that doesn't promote much togetherness.

I do most of my dates spontaneous. Most girls however want to know in advance so they can "get ready." I need to find me a woman who can get ready in 5 minutes and be ready to go.

I went over to my community pool this afternoon. It was about 70, with blue skies, and a cool breeze. I never though that I could go in swimming, so I wore shorts, and a cool top.

The sun was so warm, that my face is actually red now. And there WERE a few people in the pool. (It IS heated)

Hubby and I were married on Valentine's Day. Tonight we will knock off work early, have some wine chilling in the fridge, will order out for Chinese, put a good movie in the DVD player and cuddle up for the evening. All this was decided about an hour ago. (Reservations are impossible here on Valentine's Day.....much simpler to stay home.)

Hey Foxfyre, I'm jealous. I wish my wife would cuddle up with me. Hell, at this point I'd be happy if anyone cuddled up with me to watch a good movie. I hope you had a great evening together. It sounds very special.

Good day!

Mike

Indeed it was special Mike. I was lucky enough to marry a special guy. If you want a cuddly wife, here's what you do:

1. Find something to compliment her on three times in every day. It can be dinner, her appearance, just about anything. Make it a casual remark with no expectation of discussion.

2. Do something really thoughtful for her unasked and without comment at least once a day--twice is better. Bring her a cup of coffee, fluff her pillow, just about anything.

3. If there is something she really enjoys--you going shopping with her, a movie, a favorite restaurant, do that with her every 10-15 days--once a week is better.

4. Splash on some cologne or after shave that she doesn't hate.

She'll at first be suspicious--what are you up to? What have you done? What awful thing are you about to ask of her?

But within 30 days she'll be cuddling and I don't care what age you/she is. Smile
