I have a cold & I'm procrastinating about getting dressed & going to the chemist for some prescription medicine ..... And I'm using the time honored A2K method to avoid this, still sitting here, tapping on the keys, still dressed in my pyjamas. <sniff, honk, splutter, honk ..>
You see, it's COLD out there! Shocked Sad So far today we've had rain, wind, sunshine, hail, followed by rain. Shocked
Trouble is, it's getting later & later & I'll have to do it soon. <sigh>

I return to work tomorrow & can't quite get my head around the idea! So on & off all day today I've been employing my most tried & true procrastination ploy: A2K! Never has A2K been so fascinating, so interesting, so engrossing ...! Laughing But it's almost 10 pm & I have to face reality soon. WORK!!! Shocked Sad Rolling Eyes
I'll be OK tomorrow, I know, but .......

Hope you feel better tomorrow Olga.

I am putting off repainting a cloud on my ceiling. I thought it would look good to appear as though it were coming right out of the white tile... but it doesn't. So, I have to put my ladder back in the bathtub and repaint with sky. eye-yi-yi... what a project.

Ah, thank you, Piffka! Your kind thoughts carried me through the morning! Very Happy Actually, (& I knew this already) it wasn't so bad at all ... This was one of my half days (Now that I've reduced my load to 4/5ths) so I got to leave a bit before 12 noon. Very Happy So it was a very smooooooth start! Very Happy So, what did I do in the afternoon? Walked down to Sydney Road, enjoyed an excellent coffee, some glorious sunshine & bought Shoes! (YES! I love to buy shoes! Very Happy )

However (says she in best sombre manner) tomorrow is a REAL work day! But that's OK, I'm over the hump now! Very Happy I accept it. I'm back to work!

But, now I'm wondering, was I the only A2K procrastinator in the past 24 (almost) hours? No one else has confessed so I must be! Embarrassed

yup, i am that way. beat this, msolga: i haven't touched my dissertation since OCTOBER! sure, i don't have much time with two part time and one quarter time jobs, but i could cerrtainly squeeze in a few hours a week, but no. i always find something better to do. i'll have half a year in vienna to get rid of the<BLEEP> thesis, if only i can muster enough self discipline. how does one do that, sigh...

Glad your day went fine after all, olga! Hope today's fine, too.

Dag, I thought your dissertation was already dispatched? Didn't you defend it and everything?

nah, i defended the proposal. i have draft (a very rough draft) of most of the chapters and my readers love the stuff in it. i just have to edit the hell out of it, rewrite most of it into 'dissertation speak' (shudder) and do the exciting parts like literature review, methodology...grrrrrrr. and translate the whole thing into slovak, which will really mean writing it all over again, because that's for a book - has to be more interesting, different style. sigh, i'll have 5 months for that... which really isn't much.... but i like working under pressure. i decided to defend in a year from now - prolongs my visa. but also takes away the deadline, without which i cannot write....

You'll do it & do it well, dag. Very Happy It is going to surprise you how easy it is, when you do do it! That's because all the information has been going around & around in your head while you thought you were procastinating. Actually, your brain is processing the stuff! Very Happy

OK, I'm going to help you out here, material girl! Very Happy
Pick any one of those things you've been procrastinating about. Just one. Then get stuck into it! Do something about it! As a fellow procrastinator I know this will make you feel much, much better! Very Happy
