Hi
I was watching Rasputin yesterday(played by Alan Rickman)and I realised he was friends with the assasinated family including Princess Anastasia whose bones were never found.
I remember hearing of a lady turning up about 30 years ago I think, claiming to be Anastasia. She had bullet marks and many facial similarities to the Princess, tho her identity was never confirmed.
I find Rasputin and Anastasia both fascinating stories in themselves but I wondered if there was a film that connected the two stories.
Also to anyone else that has seen the film, can you clear something up about the time scale.
We first see Rasputin as a child in 1882.
Then it leaps forward 20 years to 1902 were he meats the Russian Royal family including their 12 year old son who he helps with his illness.
Then it leaps forward to 1918 were the son is still the same age.
How does that work!!?
I think Ive seen bits of that film years agao but will look out for it.
Ive been reading things.Rasputin bonked anything in site and when he died a maid cut off his manhood and put it in a jar,it was 13" long.
Also Anna(Anna Anderson/Anastasia)gave birth to a baby boy when she wa first found but it was given up for adoption.Would be so interesting to trace him and do DNA tests etc.
Ingrid Bergman's return to the screen in "Anastasia" brought her another Oscar. It is a very good film and could stand some restoration.
She also won the Golden Globe that year.

More info on Rasputin's much-travelled genitalia.

It has been done already. Anna Anderson was most definitely a fraud.
Thanks for the links, joe -- you always get into the meat of a subject.
Yes, there's really overwhelming proof that Anna Anderson was a fraud which makes watching the Ingrid Bergman movie even more intriguing.
