I haven't dreamt about Scrabble yet...I guess it's just a matter of time.

Hi folks.

I had a lot of fun playing against littlek and OCCOM BILL. I admit I halted my sleep just to find some A2Kers to play against.
It was a different sensation. A kinder one. Usually one plays against people one knows absolutely nothing about.

The typical ISC exchange:
"hi gl"
"gl 2 u 2"
"ty gg"
"vgg thx"
And on to another game.

littlek wasn't easy to defeat, the difference was about 50 points.
With O'Bill I was lucky from the start, but he's a good player. I got a wonderful 7 letter word (impassed) and, with it, the psychological advantage after his 33 points "dozer".
I didn't take a shower because of the playing (man, 30 minutes per player is eternity), but I guess I could easily have taken a fast one during the match against OCCOM BILL Wink

As I told littlek, I'm a little desperate (ya know, squirrels have a different nervous system), and prefer short games. 4-5 minutes is best for me. Not 3 minuters. It often happens, during a 3 minutes game, that I'm supposedly whipping the opponent and get beat by the clock.

Scrabble is fun, but also a bit addicting. I never dream about Scrabble, but sometimes I get to bed and words form in my head before I can sleep.

[Hey, and put "laeknir" on the list!]

Hi and thanks for the list of (15) A2Kers into Scrabble. I'm still learning how it all works and I hope to get the Buddy-list figured out.
So far I have a perfect record: 0 for 7.
My "Best-Time-Available" (BTA) is from between about 7 - 10 pm ET which apparently is not a BTA for many of the rest of you. Maybe you could post your most likely BTA's. I'd enjoy playing each of you at least once.
poorpuppy's plausible BTAs: M-F- 7-10 pm ET;
S-S- 2-10 pm ET

I'm going to have to retire from the scrabble site. I was just there and tried to play three different games. Each game started out well, with three or four moves being made, but then, inexplicably, the connection would close. By the time I managed to reconnect, the players had moved on to other games. Everybody over there is probably pissed at me -- they think I make a few moves, then quit.

All right! Pogo gets cable!
So's what's the problem with your connection when you're playing?

I have no idea. Like I said, I'll start a game, make three or four moves... disconnect. I have no problems on any other site.

Even the ostrich porn is coming in beautifully.

Hey Gus, if you're playing a friendly opponent, they'll hold down the fort until you are able to log back in..... I did it for Soz when she lost connection with me in the middle of one of our games.

Laeknir - I thought our game was pretty quick! I didn't mind the 15-minute limit.

I've come up with a new A2K contest: Scrabble Doubles
People pair up and play as a doubles team. They communicate using the chat channel...and you use the coordinates to spot the word location. Only drawback is that the onlookers can see both boards of letters ...but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. You end up with a gunner and a navigator...

I am hardly the person to ask...but I am learning about this game. I think that the challenger sets the ground rules (using the options tool bar on ISC). I used 25 minutes because I was new and slow but it apparently can be set at a lesser time.
Is 25 too long? Perhaps, but I'd suggest/ask we move it down slowly for the benefit of the new players who are still learning how to navigate our way through the game.
rjb = poorpuppy (who lost to mac11 in the final few plays to keep his "perfect" record intact: 0-8 or so)

Less than 25; I'd be creamed. I've lost 3 for running out of time.
