That was a totally lucky break. I know it hit a triple word score and I think the Z was on a double or triple letter score.

This woman normally wipes the floor with me, BTW.

I was playing with three other people. I drew 'a' and got the first move. I placed my tiles on the board: 'l - a - c - t - a - t- -e'. One of the women was pregnant at the time. For years afterward she thought of me as this fiercely competitive, world class, Scrabble player. I'm not. I was just lucky enough to pick up those seven tiles on the first move of the game.

Theres an app for that. OXYFENBUTAZONE(a recently banned Nsaid) is the theoretically highest score word one can play. Its worth over 1200 points I think.
