i don't think it's even -30
Merry - '78? If only the city would stop. Unfortunately, everyone thinks they're so damned important that the world can't run without them.
I have a shovel, I do shovel. I wouldn't mind having someone to shovel with.

I sure agree with that statement. I'd also help you shovel. It helps to have some orange cones and one of those blinking orange and white sawhorses so people won't steal your spot when you move. Worked for me when I lived there....
Re global warming, on which I'm a doofus, but not a doubter,
I think of our sideyard, in winter. (We had an extra lot, lawn in summer.) It ranged from of course zero to six inch at a start, to 36", generally, and when it was 36, maybe the average was, oh, say, 24 to 28, across the yard. I say that now as someone used to construction numbers.
Maybe my years in Chicago were extra snowy, could have been. And I probably forget the downtimes.
What a weird storm that was. I opened the front door when it stopped to a 3 foot wall against it. Drift. Across the street because of the wind I could see a neighbors grass. The snow had all blown off. My two tier table on the porch is now one tier. Birdfeeder is gone. Bring on those flakes. They shall not pass. They'll all fall on my fron porch.

1) I am so damned important. Don't you know who I am? I'M SLAPPY DOO HOO!!!! This world can't run without me.
2) I was talking to this girl who just had her tire slashed for possibly taking someone's spot(no cones or anything in it). That whole thing is f'n stupid. If I ever caught anyone vandalizing my car for taking their "spot," or in general, I would end up arrested for kicking the sh!t out of them, or at least attempting to.
Here we go again. How much are we getting?
I dunno Paula. I saw in today's Globe that last weekend's snow accumulation in Cambridge was upgraded to 30" - that sounds more like what I was shoveling. For the next 24 hours I've heard anything from 2" to 8". And, wunderground.com says snow is likely this weekend too.
My goodness, my street looks like it did when I was little. There is a big enough pile of snow at the end of my driveway for kids to make tunnels. That's what I used to do.
Eeyep, in 1978? We've already getten around 2".
Do you think the airport is going to be screwed up tomorrow morning?
hhhmmmmm, let me think about tha- yes.
What the hell. My flight is supposed to LEAVE at 8:15, and I guess the airport is packed early in the morning...I have no clue what time I should leave, I'm thinking 5:45.
And I don't know if I should drive+leave my car there, or setup transportation. I get it expensed either way.
Plus I have to check to see if flights are leaving? I'm such a rookie. And I can never wake up that early.
It's easy to check status of most flights -- just go to that airline's website and enter your flight number.
we already have 4-5" here.
Oh my. That ain't good.
How long would it take to drive to New Orleans?
Er...
If it takes you through Columbus, you could use our couch... :-D
Aw gee, thanks.
I think it would be a pretty damn long drive.
More snow today.
Looking up the driveway in Winter:
The same view in Summer:
It's like a whole different world. In New England, you get to live in one place, but nature brings you something different no matter how lazy you are
And here's the autumn pic...
