So, there’s this German guy that I like, and one time he sat beaide me. His friends started sitting beside us too and this girl asked him whether he is seeing someone at that time. Well, his answer was: he’s not seeing anyone because he finds girls and relationships conplicated — which I find agreeable because we’re still 18. But after a few seconds he patted my back and told them: “but *insertmyname*, here is not complicated.” They fell silent and just laughed.
We’ve never really talked. He just sits beside me every time there’s an empty seat beside me. And well, sometimes he tries to get me to talk but I always shy away. I just wanna know what he meant by me not being complicated. Because I’m confused... does that mean I’m too simple or is he messing with me or does that mean something else?

Why care what his motivations are? He's 18, an age where most people don't even know themselves, have only the vaguest idea why they do things...
...and likely as he has only the vaguest idea why he said that - you want others to guess why he said that?
Forget the guessing game. Find yourself, be yourself, enjoy who you are.
Maybe he was giving you a compliment. He doesn't want all the drama of a relationship, and he sees you as authentic and not a game-player.
Continue to be friendly and see where this goes.
At some time, you need to speak up and be more assertive because you don't want him to think you are dull just because you are quiet.
