Larry is a jazz DJ in Cincinnati.
Regarding the knowledge of jazz among todays young people here is what
happened to me yesterday. I had a young lady telemarketer call me.
She was with some finincial investement company. She asked if I
owned any CD's. I informed her that I had quite a few including many I
had owned for some time by Benny Goodman, and Stan Kenton, at which
point she asked if they were my brokers. I informed her that they were
bandleaders and my CD's were musical. "Oh no!!" she replied, "I mean
finincial investment CD's". At which point I informed her they were a
rather finincial investment costing me between $12.00 to $20.00 each
and adding up to sizable investment. Laughing, she informed me that
she was asking about CD's or mutual funds. I in return told her that
my CD's afforded me a lot of mutual fun as I shared them with many
listeners. "Oh my!! You're funny, you should be on the radio".
