funny u should ask -- yesterday my boss asked me how things were.
i'll tell u what i told him

its not great but its bearable, and i don't mind staying put.
he told me that Sir Laffalot is still trying to find a spot for me on another floor -- bcos he wants to put one of his guys in my cubicle!

so i'm gonna let them duke it out.
i figure either way i get what i want...

Well that would be all's well that ends well - and it wouldnt even be all about you having made a fuss either!

But in the meantime, you've found some way to keep/restore your patience?

i think its more about the noisy-ites being more mindful and respectful, rather than any adjustments i've made...

funny story from the other day --
brittney sent out an e-mail to the deparment (there's an upcoming surprise pizza party honoring Thumper for earning his engineering degree.)
only problem -- she forgot to take Thumper off the distribution list!
people were teasing her a bit, so she responded with "SHUT up! ohmygawd, i CAN'T believe i just did that!"
i'm guessing that if Clueless isn't her favorite film, its gotta be in the top three...

apparently she's seriously trying for a career in the music industry.
more power to her.
i sincerely hope she gets a multi-record deal and moves out to LA -- permanently...

received word today that my dept will be moving to another floor...

Today I am the noise in my office.
Barking coughing.

Noddy, i figured one of 3 things'd happen if i could manage to stick it out long enough --
i'd move; the dept'd move; or the noise-makers would move (or better yet -- leave).

#2 makes the most sense bcos the noisey group is getting very busy and growing.
the end result is my dept is being forced off the floor... sweet!!

EhBeth, have a couple throat lozenges ... they oughtta fix ya right up

Didn't Reyn do a great avatar collage not so long ago? How about enlarging that and framing it? It'd be a sure conversation starter!

Beth is riffing off of my framing riff on Lash's recent art thread, and it doesn't have to do with avatars, so much, I think, as the acting of framing the concept of us. The concept of us as a group could take some time, given that the data isn't all visual, not to mention that it keeps changing. I suppose I could come up with a symbol of our growing concept of us, if so desired. Otherwise a nice circle would do in the meantime.

So, the conceptual frame can hang side by side with Reyn's work.
