Could anyone provide a latin tranlsation for the following line of English please:

"There are big changes afoot"

My take on it:

Magnae mutationes fiebant.

Literally, "Big changes are being made."
There's probably something closer to the idiomatic "afoot,"
but I don't know what it is.
