Hi, there is and expression in Czech "sebeironicky" which literally means "self-ironic". I was wondering if you could come up with something native speakers would really use.
"Sebeironicky" is connected with sense of humor, so it means to be able to make sarcastic fun of oneself. So instead of saying She has a self-ironic sense of humor, what would a native speaker say?
And the second expression I'd like to inquire about:
How would you describe the way Jack Nicholson acts in his famous movies? Could you say his acting is based on provoking style or gutty show or provocative acting display? If you know what I mean.
Thanks

I think the word we use is self-deprecating
