Oh yes LA that would be a great place to meet. We could do the Norton Simon together one day and LA County the next, heh.

This just in: starting October 17 -- just in time for ehBeth and Noddy's visit to New York -- the Shake Shack will be serving breakfast. I don't know any details, but that's what it says in this New York Observer article about the Shake Shack.

Great article, Bree. Thanks.

The place sure has a lot to live up to - after all JoeNation's hinted about it.

EhBeth--

Finally! Clear directions to the labyrinth.

So much depends on the weather. Ordinarily I'm against Global Warming, but I'm capable of some very selfish wishes.

Small complication about Friday afternoon. This may be the only time for me to cross paths with my hostess and with a third friend of 49 years from college days. We Shall See.

You have no idea how pleasant it is to have Delightful Complications--I'm far more used to the tedious and/or sordid sort of detours.

I promise to do my share of charming Mrs. LTX.

I might even be able to drag some of the Class of '60 to the Guggenheim.

The world is full of possibilities.

ooooooooooh

I like the sound of that very much.
Well, I knew the world had possibilities - but it's always nice to hear someone else notice. <grinning>

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I called my colleague upstairs when I got into the office this morning.
"Three weeks from now we'll be on our second day in New York, E. I hope we'll be on our way to the Staten Island Ferry right now."
"I know I know. I'm getting sooooooo excited."
We are two women ready to wander and sit and observe and admire and charm, and be charmed.
Unsettled question from my childhood:
R.L. Stevenson wrote:
The world is so full of a number of things,
I think we should all be as happy as kings.
I knew "queens" wouldn't rhyme, but I did wonder why women were left out of the Glorious Possibility Festivities.
I dwell in possibility
Emily Dickinson
I dwell in Possibility--
A fairer House than Prose--
More numerous of Windows--
Superior--for Doors--
Of Chambers as the Cedars--
Impregnable of Eye--
And for an Everlasting Roof
The Gambrels of the Sky--
Of Visitors--the fairest--
For Occupation--This--
The spreading wide my narrow Hands
To gather Paradise--
It still looks good for us for Thursday at the Frying Pan. Friday, we can play by ear. My better half seems to be more inclined to meet a bunch of strangers where a glass of is handy than not. This sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
I'll keep you posted.
(We hope to charm and be charmed as well, but competition will be formidable.)
LionTamerX we are not strangers. Most of us have met each other. Although I must admit to bringing my Aunt Jane along for protection the first time I met with A2kers in Dallas, TX.
Are you going toward the Boston/Cape Cod area for part of that trip?
