Love to see you. Phoenix is full of praise for Frank as an escort/guide/three card monte man.

EhBeth--

Even as the dark days close in and waterside dining becomes a survival exercise, I'd like to have a Thursday Evening at the Frying Pan.

I'm sure that the ethos of the Algonquin Round Table has settled on the Frying Pan. Dinner there with the wits of A2K has assumed a mythic aura in my eyes.

A long, white winter is looming.....

Can you exert your charm and efficiency to this fabled end?

If I have to drag him out of his Brown Study. I will--but I've sent for a pamphlet and my NYC hostess has promised to take me by the hand...

ossobuco : glad to read you keep apollinaris in the fridge. we've got a pamphlet outlining the health bemnefits to be gained by drinking polli. if the pamphlet is to be believed you'll live to a 120+ by drinking polli.
it's one of our favourites; we usually keep a few bottles around; another good one is "gerolsteiner". hbg

The head sniffer, or pate smoocher (as I prefer) is flying in to Newark on Thurday the 20th, and flying home on the following Sunday.

It looks like I might have a window of opportunity on Friday day and early evening. Sadly, I will not be able to make it to The Frying Pan on Thurs.
I have a party to attend Friday night in Jersey City, and Saturday is chock full of in-laws.

Thanks for all the offers of help, but the Mrs. and I are NJ natives and know our way around those parts.

Keeping fingers crossed.

If you guys go to the Cooper-Hewitt to see the Extreme Textiles show, you'll be just up the street from the Guggenheim, where this kind of interesting-sounding exhibit

Russia!

has just opened.

I must admit that I am not as interested in extreme textiles as I should be. (I work in the textile industry.)
But I will gladly suffer for the company.
Who knows, I might learn something.

Perhaps there could be a bite to eat and a tiny libation worked in ?

My last visit to the Guggenheim was for Russian art of the Soviet Period 1917-1933. This was my focus in college. The exhibit changed my life.
