Must sleep - see you NYers (and guests of NY) tomorrow!
littlek wrote:Ok, so before stamford? Sound about the right spot to call from? I'll check a map and keep an eye on traffic.
I'm thinking maybe a little bit after you pass Stamford, somewhere around White Plains, Yonkers...that should be totally beautiful.
See ya tomorrow!
k - socks are cool if you're wearing pants. if you're wearing skirt, you'll have to wear knee-high socks (what are those called?) and two pony tails.
man, i gotta go to bed. how is that done before 3am? huh?
call me in the morning, someone, to get me out of bed at 8!!!
Seee ya!
i'm up, i'm up. got up all by myself!
Good work Dag, now what about Kay?
i'm picking her up, awake or asleep, alive or dead.
Kicky, will you call us when Dag and K call you? We're planning to meet everyone at 7A too. It takes us about the same amount of time to get there as you, as you know......I'll PM my phone number.
Not going to read all the pages, but my two cents worth:
1. Trotters in Yonkers, if they are running.
2. Fulton Fish Market in outer area (bad area) at
around 4 a.m.
3. Any neighborhood street fair, the more ethnic
the better.
4. The Bronx used to have the best bakeries.
5. Staten Island Ferry, boat trip around Manhattan from westside. Visit to westside docks to see what ships are in.
6. Bronx Zoo (particularly the butterfly habitat and underground tunnel viewing area where people are caged to see large cats, etc.)
7. Bronx Botanical Gardens, particularly the recently renovated, fabulous, huge glass building (can't remember the proper name for it).
8. Bars (quite illegal) that open at about 2 a.m. in
working class areas for those getting off work. Usually in Mom and Pop stores and very simple food places.
Can't remember what else.
Have a great time, you lucky dogs.

My hostess and I met 49 years ago, come September, as college freshmen. Monday we got together with another college friend whom we hadn't seen for 47 years. Tuesday was devoted to ESL classes with Women for Afghan Women. In addition to conversation and basic literacy (some of the women could not read or write in any language) we took them to the Tribeca Film Festival "Prostitution behind the Veil". Judging from the students' amusement, the English subtitles were not nearly as earthy as the actual dialogue.
Wednesday was devoted to a bit of shopping and the meeting with ehBeth. Thursday my aching bones and I caught the bus back to the Poconos. The house is almost reclaimed from Bachelor Living but the Family Dog is still suspicious that I may vanish again.
pictures, we want pictures!
pictures of shoes.
pictures of wet socks in nonsensical shoes.
pictures of irate cabbies.
taptaptap...
Pictures of shoes? Nah....
(desperate times call for desperate measures...)
Don't kid me with Bahstin. I'm from Newton, and an Imelda Marcos of shoes.

Ah, what a great and wonderful time you are having. Yes, we Wildclickers are looking for more pictures!! Looks like fun. Color me green.
Been offline, and off-a2k, for quite4 a while due to computer problems. Hovered over underlined word. Say that it ain't so, folks.
Sumac! Good to see you again!
'Tis so, I'm afraid. But...did you notice there are no ads at the top and side anymore? It's a trade-off. We've learned to ignore the greenies, you will too.
<peeks to see damage - none done? Crashes HARD>
ahhhh, home sweet home. i hope all the pics will be posted when i come back to life = at least sixteen hours from now...
